"Pre Assessment Unit & Pathology"

About: Wexham Park Hospital

I had an appointment this morning (5th Sept 14) in the Pre Assessment Unit and found all the staff to be so friendly and professional. When I booked the appointment I was told that I should expect to be there for up to 3 hours but in the end I was only there for 1 hour. The unit did not have anyone on site to take bloods and the nurses were very apologetic about it. They asked me if it was ok if I went to the Pathology Dept to have them taken and I didn't have a problem with this as it is on the way to the bus stop at the main entrance. I only had to wait about 40 - 50 minutes until I was called through to have my blood taken. I am extremely fearful of needles so when the nurse quickly took the blood and then said she was finished I was surprised and delighted because I hadn't felt a thing! She is absolutely amazing at taking blood! Please can you pass my thanks to all the staff in the Pre Assessment Unit and Pathology for an exceptionally happy experience.

Response from Wexham Park Hospital

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such positive feedback on your recent experience. I am pleased to note that the staff were friendly, professional and it took a shorter time than anticipated. I will pass your comments onto Matron Lendthy, Pre-assessment and Gavin Bennett, Manager Pathology, who I know will be delighted to share your feedback with the team. I hope the planned operation goes smoothly for you Kind Regards Claire Marshall Associate Director of Patient Experience and Public Involvement
