"Not respectful of those with phobias."

About: Fairfield General Hospital

I visited the hospital for a consultation with the dentist, for a tooth removal. I have a phobia of medical procedures, and have previously needed a GA for procedures that could not be completed due to these phobias. I needed a wisdom tooth removal, and two other teeth removing, but was too phobic to have these done under Local, as sedation doesn't work with me. I was very satisfied with the receptionist and the person who did my x-ray. However, the person who examined my teeth was very insensitive. He was very rude, and did not respect my phobia. He basically told me off, and didn't seem to want to listen to anything I had to say. He told me if it wasn't for the wisdom tooth, I wouldn't be allowed a GA. Whilst I respect this is the case, there are special circumstances when someone is that phobic, that it is the only solution. I also respect the fact that GAs do not come cheap, and that surgery slots aren't easy to come by. However I was not at all happy by his attitude towards me and my phobias. He should have been more respectful. I tried to ask questions to calm my nerves, but he really wasn't very nice at all.
