I was in Plymouth city centre when I tripped over a kerb and fell. I am disabled and on the large side so I did have a bit of a fall hurting my elbow and my thigh.
Passersby came to my aid and even though I insisted I was fine they called for a paramedic. The paramedic, Tim Beckett, arrived very quickly and checked me over, helped me up and made sure I was able to walk. Tim was very caring and put me at my ease in a way that was natural and did not seem to be at all scripted. He genuinely cared and made sure he explained everything to me.
On the train on the way back to Bodmin my elbow swelled up so I called in to the minor injuries unit where they scanned it but could not detect any fracture. They said they would ask a radiologist to have a look to make sure but it was OK to go home.
