Last year (June 2013) I found I had ringing in my left ear. Unfortunately after ear cleaning and a referral I was diagnosed as having tinnitus.
November 2013 the consultant said he would arrange for an MRI scan & also an appointment with the Hearing Clinic. He did explain whilst there was no cure, the Hearing Clinic would be able to answer any questions, offer advice & also help me to cope with the Tinnitus.
I had the MRI in January at Solihull, but then I had to chase the results myself after many weeks which caused me a lot of worry. I then called the hearing clinic to ask about my appointment & was told I'm still on the waiting list.
Around April 2014 I did get a call to my mobile at work at 8:10am asking if I could take an emergency appointment at the hearing clinic at 9:00am, but unfortunately due to less than an hours notice & also an important business meeting this wasn't possible.
Again, I did ask when I might get an appointment, but I was told they didn't know. Its now September 2014 & I'm still waiting, and my tinnitus still drives me crazy. Depression is setting in & I'm slowly dismissing any confidence I had in our NHS :(
