I was due to be induced with my 4th child. I was told to go in for 10. The midwives were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for me. My gripe is not with them.
What I found absolutely shocking was, when I was getting my internal examination down by the midwife to see how dilated I was, a female staff member from the hospital just opened the curtain without checking and handed me a menu asking what sandwich I wanted for my lunch (while I was still getting my examination done). My husband didn't know where to look and she stood there until I gave my answer.
The midwife couldn't believe what she had seen. An internal examination is embarrassing at the best of times but to be asked what kind of sandwich you are wanting is terrible.
As I said the midwives do a fabulous job. The catering lady just needs to understand when the curtains are closed just don't barge in and wait for an answer.
"When the curtains are closed, please don't just barge in"
