"All very good and friendly but why were the lights off at reception?"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Mental Health Services for Older People – Community (County)

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

We attended the Memory Assessment Service at the Ashfield Hospital. On arriving there was no receptionist at the reception and all the lights were off so we thought it seemed a bit odd but someone came to greet us straight away.

It was all very good and very friendly

Thank you for your comments, I am pleased that you felt that the service recieved at the clinic was good and friendly. In response to your comments about the reception and lighting. Unfortunately the reception is the responsibility of the Ashfield Health Vilage and is not manned, however we do our best to ensure that people are greeted on their arrival and have placed signs around the reception area. With regards to the lighting although this is turned on at the start of the clinic we have found that other professionals working in the area do turn them off. We are now very aware of this and do our best to ensure that they remain on. Having reported this to the Main Reception Manager, a notice has now been placed on the light switches requesting that they remain switched on.
