"I am at a loss to understand"

About: St Thomas' Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

I am diabetic and had to go to St Thomas’ hospital earlier this year where I was a patient for 2 weeks.

On this particular day I was just about to have my meal when a nurse came with my injection but as I was not very mobile and had the food tray across my knees I asked if she could inject me rather than inject myself. The nurse took umbrage at this and went off in a huff.

I was later reprimanded by a more senior nurse because the nurse in question was upset and in tears. I was at a loos to understand why when all I’d asked was if she could do the injection for me.

Other than that I’ve appreciated the care that I’ve had from St Thomas’ hospital over many years.
