"Really great service"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Got referred by my GP for suspected appendicitis and taken to Surgery assessment unit. The staff were fantastic when I arrived, I was seen near enough immediately. Ok it took 7 seven attempts, 1 doctor and 2 nurses to take blood samples but they were professional and patient, I knew it wasn't their fault. I was told I had to stay the night and shown to the ward. Very friendly staff. Next day same again, couldn't fault the nurses. I was told at 2:30pm to try and eat something and if everything goes ok I will be sent home. 8 hours later I still hadn't seen a doctor to discharge me. The nurses asked 4 times for a doctor to come down. And it left the ward in a troublesome position with everyone on the ward needing to be reviewed so it took 10 hours after seeing one doctor to see another. I appreciate they're busy and doing the best they can but people who really were quite Ill were being left. Overall a pleasant experience for myself. Every single member of staff was cheerful, despite the pressure they were under.
