I was admitted to Rawcliffe/Winstanley ward. Greeted by friendly reception staff, shown to my bed space & informed I would be admitted to the ward and a nurse would be along shortly. The ward looked clean & the environment was quiet & calming. The Assistant Practitioner & HCA who admitted me were very friendly & reassuring. I was seen by the Orthopaedic Surgeon & Anaesthetist promptly & everything was explained to me, including the possibility of a delay due to prioritising patients according to medical needs. My partner was allowed to stay right up to me going to theatre. Theatre staff were very pleasant & reassuring, I was dreading having a general anaesthetic! On return to the ward I was given a drink of water and discharged about an hour or so later by the Staff Nurse with appropriate advise. I would liked to have known more about the operation but my theatre notes weren't available at the time. Highly recommended & a big thank you to all involved in my care.
