"The nursing staff I had helping ..."

About: Castle Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The nursing staff I had helping me during my stay were second to none, they work long, tiring and busy hours and are never less than totally proffesional and caring. Some of the jobs these often young girls have to cope with left me feeling humble, I have nothing but praise for how well they work in diffecult conditions.

Special mention must be made to the cleaning team, who kept the ward area spotless.

What could be improved

I feel the ward visiting times could be improved. My family live over 20 miles away, and the visiting times make it very hard to get in from work, wash, change and still get to the hospital in time for the evening 6-7pm visiting time. Because of this I often didnt get any visitors.

Dear Mr Chesterfield Thank you for commenting on this website about your experiences at Castle Hill Hospital. It is always good to receive feedback, particularly when it is so positive. NHS Hull is the organisation responsible for deciding how money is spent on local health services (also known as commissioning), ensuring those services are of high quality and meet local needs. We have forwarded your comments on to colleagues at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust (which provides these services) and they will ensure that they are passed on to the staff concerned. I have also asked them to feed back to us regarding your suggestions about the visiting times. However, should you wish to discuss this with them directly please do not hesitate to contact them via their Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01482 623065 or by email. Should you not wish to do this, we will place their response to your suggestion on this website. Alternatively, should you wish to speak to NHS Hull’s PALS team, please call 01482 335409 or by email. Thank you for taking the time to let us have your views on local services.
