"Cardiology Outpatient Service"

I would just like to congratulate the team in the outpatient department during the Congenital Cardiology Clinic today. My appointment was for 8.45am and I was promptly seen by the clerk on the front desk who confirmed my details were correct and asked me to take a seat. I was taken through for an ECG within a couple of minutes by a cheerful and professional young man, after which I waited no longer than another couple of minutes before a clinic nurse took me around to have my height and weight taken, and then obs taken immediately after. I do think that some patients may not appreciate having their blood pressure taken whilst sitting in a pretty busy corridor outside the doctor's office, although this did not really bother me. I was then promptly taken in to have an echocardiogram by two friendly and informative echocardiographers before being assessed by my Consultant immediately after the echo. This meant I didn't have to get changed for a third time to allow the doctor to listen to my chest/back etc. Once I had been examined, I was taken through to see the consultant who is always welcoming, informative and appears to really care for his patients, both medically and on a personal level. After making another appointment for a future follow up on the way out of the clinic, all this had taken just 45 minutes. Overall I was very impressed with the service I received today and would definitely recommend the service to my friends and family where possible.
