Aug 30th 2014 10.40 pm. I was advised by NHS Diirect to take our l 10 yr old son from Market Weighton to nearest hospital which was Swinemoor Lane. Arrived and seen promptly by doctor who prescribed 3 lots of meds. The doctor said to ask receptionist for info regarding late night chemists and also enquire if the receptionist had the meds available that could be supplied. The receptionist told me to go to late night chemist in Kingston Park (35 min drive). My little boy was very poorly and struggling the swallow. We eventually arrived in Central Hull at 11.45pm to find the late night chemist closed! It does not stay open until midnight at weekends and never has! I then drove back to Swinemoor Lane with my little boy in pain and crying to be given a new prescription by another doctor which the receptionist them made up !!!!!!! My question being.....why did I need to drive a poorly child all the way to Hull and back when the I asked the receptionist if they could provide the meds in the first place and I was directed to Boots in Hull. I am disgusted that I left home at 10.15 pm with a poorly child and arrived home at 00.45 am all because one member of staff could not be bothered to make up a 2 bottles or medicine.......shocking !!!!!!!!
