"Visit to A&E"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

Was admitted to A&E on 29/08, then moved to clinic AMU2. The doctors and staff were wonderful and very helpful. One of the things I was diagnosed with was a urine infection. The only problem I had was that due to the pharmacy being closed I was unable to get my prescription. I had to go back this morning 30/08. I think there should be an emergency pharmacist available out of hours or the prescription from the doctor should be valid at local chemists. It was difficult for me to get there but managed in the end, but had to pay car park fees because the pharmacy didn't open until 9.15am for some reason, losing out on the free 30 minutes.

Thank you for providing feedback on your experience at University Hospital, Coventry. I am delighted to hear that you are happy with the care you received. It is disappointing that pharmacy was closed when you needed to get your prescription and we will feed this back to the pharmacy team along with your idea for an emergency pharmacist available out of hours. The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your kind comments will be shared with the relevant staff. Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices. Communications Team University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust Telephone: 0800 028 4203
