"My experience with sure start. "

About: Sure Start Centres

(as the patient),

I had a family support worker who visited me during a hard time when I had post natal depression. She helped me with my children and supported me with my illness.

They could be improved the telephone contact, and the visit duration.

Thank you for lettting us know Sure Start have helped you while you were ill. I would like to know more about your comment about the telephone contact and longer duration visits. For now I will assume you mean you would like to have more telephone contact and longer visits. If you want to let me know more feel free to email me (karon.foulkes@nottshc.nhs.uk)

We have started to roll out our new Perinatal Support Service across the county which will train more staff in understanding the needs of those who have post natal depression and also training specialist volunteers who will be able to spend more time with individuals. This new approach has been tested and shown to be really helpful which is why we are going to use it everywhere in Nottinghamshire. This should mean all new parents who have the same illness as you had, will get a better service

I wish you well for you and your child's future and hope to see you at your local Chilldrens Centre soon.
