"A bad experience at Airedale Hospital"

Last August I was admitted to the Airedale Hospital in Keighley with acute bowel problems (severe diarrhoea).

After spending 4-5 hrs in the A&E ward I was taken to another general ward where i was given a drink which turned out to be a laxative! I spent the next 12 or more hours on a commode. No one came to see how i was that night.

I was told to go home the folowing day and was discharged with my dirty underwear in a plastic bag, no proper shoes or socks on, and had to wait like that till a taxi came to take me home at 9pm at night.

I still suffer daily and my wife has to wash my underwear daily. I did put in an official complaint which the Healthcare Commission upheld and i have now proceeded to inform the ombudsman as i think a lot of aspects were not considered. I await now for the ombudsman's help, if possible.
