About: Cheltenham General Hospital

I was an in patient on the cardiac ward for 7days. During that time I was shown the greatest care and kindness by all grades of staff and can't praise them enough. My only complaint concerns the smoking which seems to be allowed outside the main College Road entrance very close to the windows of the Red Bay of the cardiac ward. It was often necessary to close the windows because of the smell. Also the hand sanitiser on the right hand side inside the main doors was empty for duration of my stay.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on our site and it is concerning to hear that the rules were not being followed during your stay with us. We will pass your comments on to the ward and our patient experience team. We will also let the infection control team know about the alcohol gel - hopefully this problem has already been rectified.
