"Experience of a long term patient"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

Due to a premature delivery and incompetent cervix, I was admitted to the Jessops in Sheffield. The best things about the treatment I was given was that they managed to avoid delivery until 28 weeks. The staff also allowed me day leave for a few hours a day. Although I think the monitoring could have been better and more often. As a long term patient, it sometimes felt like they had forgotten you are there. However, I would like to thank Dr Johki and Dr Anumba for the care they gave me.

At one point, I felt angry because I was refused pain relief as I tried to stop labour and kept being told as soon as the meds start working the pain will go away. Stopping labour however did NOT work and pain relief was only given many hours into labour.
