"A&E Team & Maxillofactor Consultants"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

I was brought in on Sat 16th August 2014 with a swollen left cheek which had developed overnight after another Hospital had referred me to King's. The staff in the A&E that we met were extremely helpful and professional in their approach to dealing with patients like me. At one point the staff thought I might have suffered a stroke. However, as new staff took over in the afternoon, things went downhill. I had to ask my wife to ask the CPN what was going on with my case as we were totally being ignored! Everytime we thought a staff nurse going up and down would pop her head round our cubicle, she just went by without even glancing in aour directions....no single eye contact. The CPN told my wife "I know nothing about your husband" How could this be in a modern day hospital that the previous staff have been so excellent?! The first group of staff eventually returned thank God and made the rest of our waiting and treatment more tolerable. Thank you very much to the Consultants, and staff who looked after all and thank you also to those who didn't...you know who you are.

Please would you consider contacting us with your details so that we can review why the nursing staff on the afternoon shift seemed to have no information about your care plan or were unwilling to find out what was happening. Our email address is kch-tr.pals@nhs.net
