"The hospital couldn't provide low fibre food"

About: Kingston Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I was admitted with a severe flare-up of Ulcerative Colitis. I remained in hospital for almost 3 weeks, but was given the wrong painkillers (making my symptoms worse), told I was being discharged after a few days (despite my symptoms being worse than on admission), and given a colonoscopy which was so painful (despite 'painkilling' and 'sedation' which didn't work AT ALL) that it had to be stopped. I had asked for a GA for the procedure (I've had several in the past and all have been excruciating) but was given the standard response about risk, which is really all about to cost. The hospital couldn't provide low fibre food suitable for IBD patients, and it has no IBD nurse.
