"Lack of communication from consultant"

About: Southmead Hospital

I sent an email to my consultant's secretary last week and I had a reply saying my email would be replied to shortly. This is coming into a whole week, I have symptoms and blood test results that are concerning me and I get no phone call or email. I would like a transfer please or an explanation into my results. If neither of these are satisfied I will have no choice but to put forward a letter of complaint. I am sick and tired of feeling unwell when I ought to be out there working and enjoying myself.

Response from Southmead Hospital

Dear Jo – thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that your experience has been poor. Regrettably I have no details to be able to assist you in your request for an explanation of your care, other than your first name (that may be abbreviated). I would suggest that you contact the consultant’s secretary on the number provided on the appointment again to see if they can assist, or contact the Advice and Complaints Team at Complaints@nbt.nhs.uk and provide your full details plus those of the consultant and we will be happy to progress your enquiry for you. Kind Regards – Steve Sykes Advice and Complaints Team
