I was admitted to ward 6 awaiting orthopaedics pre assessment prior to nerve root block to spine. Admission had been extremely distressing as was via A&E. Reason for admission, uncontrollable pain. ( I also have a diagnosis of Parkinson's, well controlled via medication and wonderful team lead by the professor at Newcastle). The consultant who visited ward 6 was very rude .He dismissed the admitting ?junior medic with a wave of his hand and swirled the bedside curtains around my bed. There was no nurse present or junior medic. He commenced his introduction to myself and husband by 'shouting at us, no shacking of hands or introduction for us. In my pain medicated haze (nefopam, gabapention ,etc)' he shouted that my diagnosis of Parkinson's had nothing to do with my newly diagnosed spinal problem (discovered only by MRI SCAN ).The whole ward would have heard the conversation! He continued to shout about my name.
"Orthopaedics. Consultants rude attititude"
