"Radiology ... Ultrasound"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

My son had an appointment in radiology which needed to be cancelled, I rang the number on the letter, I rang over 20 times for over an hour and a half and got no reply. I emailed the email address and said the appointment needed rearranging, I heard nothing back but a new appointment arrived in the post, the letter arrived at about 2.00pm....the appointment was for 11.00am that same day. I'm sure this explains why there are so many "no shows" at these appointments. Hopefully a new appointment will arrive with time for my son to get himself up to the JR! This is a shame as it sounds negative but we have attended many outpatients and had procedures as inpatients that have all been 5star treatment from all staff, clinical and administrative. Perhaps confirmation of appointments could by done by email, text or just phoning and leaving a voicemail.

Thank you for your comments regarding your son's Radiology appointment. I am very sorry that you experienced difficulty contacting the department by telephone and that the new appointment time was not verbally communicated to you. Your feedback will be shared with the department managers. We would also be very happy to investigate the issues you have raised and provide you with a response. If you would like us to do this, please do not hesitate to contact Rebecca Harris on 01865 223255 or at rebecca.harris@ouh.nhs.uk who will be happy to discuss the complaint process with you.
