Just received day surgery in urology dept. Was worried having never been in hospital before and I'm now 70 yrs old. Staff fabulous, treatment superb and successful ( as far as I can tell as early days) minor concerns. Paper towel bin in gents toilet almost overflowing. Several patients ( including myself) put on wrong dept beds and had to swap just before being taken for surgery. This next concern is little to do with the hospital but when I went for my surgery assessment I elected to be told if there were any early appointments. The appointment dept phoned my home an hour later whilst I was still travelling back from Eastbourne to St Leonard's. I did not check my phone until later in the day and so was very surprised to receive a letter the following morning threatening that if I did not contact you within 7 days I would be removed from the queue and have to start my surgery trail all over again. I consider this a bit over the top for not answering 1 missed call.! Overall though my treatment at your hospital was extremely pleasant . . .if I can use that phrase for what I went though. Many thanks to your excellent staff. . I hope not to see you again soon. Michael Turner X342731
