Our daughter was admitted to the Royal Derby Hospital on August 13 until August 16 2014. This was the first time she had been into hospital as an inpatient and from our first encounter with the A & E Doctor we were all treated with kindness, efficiency and a professional attitude. We would also like to mention the lovely way the Nurse treated us. The doctor made clear to us there was no problem with one or both of us remaining with our daughter during her stay, which was a great relief. The Medical Assessment ward 7 must also be singled out for praise. Under the Team Leader the staff were absolutely brilliant carrying out their duties whilst trying to minimise our daughters obvious distress. She was treated with care and dignity. While not wishing to single out staff members, we feel we must give special thanks to two particular members of staff who also helped me, her Mum, cope with the situation with a maturity way beyond her years and another nurse who carried out her routine tests in a quiet and unobtrusive way. Many, many thanks to the ward doctors, registrars and the consultant in whom we had complete confidence. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Derby Hospital to anyone needing medical care. Thank you once again.
