The community matron that looks after me and my family is excellent. A couple of months ago I was very poorly and we rang the matron who came out to see me. She liaised with my GP and I was admitted into hospital and this resulted in being put into the ICU with a chest infection and septicaemia. If we had not been receiving this service from the matrons I dread to think what would have happened! Not only is my matron a professional, she is also my friend and me and my family know she is always on hand to advise us etc. Nothing is ever too much trouble and it is a service that is exceptional! It is fantastic to have such a service that is beneficial to me and my husband, who is my main carer.

It is good to hear that your matron was able to ensure that you received the most appropriate care to help you get better, although I am sorry to hear that you had a stay in hospital.

You must feel very supported and reassured to know that your Matron is on hand when you need additional support and advice.
