"Dignity & Privacy Lost - A&E refurb wasted money"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

I recently attended the A&E department, during this i have noticed the department has had a refurbishment within the area and reception. But still amazed how the managers and staff cant spot the most obvious and applicable non compliance to dignity and privacy and confidentiality. The receptionists are now behind a glass window with a speaker and microphone set up as though we are in the bank, which i understand maybe for safety with abrupt or aggressive patients. But as with the old desk and layout, visitors/patients have to walk in and inform the receptionist of their name, dob, number, allergies and complaint to why they are attending, all being where the other patients and sat waiting and listening to all of it. AS with the old layout the nearest seat is only 1 metre away, and even if it was over 3metre radius the lay member of public can hear all this information. This breaches my privacy for the issue im attending, they now know alot of my essential information and for those of a criminal nature they now know details that are dangerous to me, or a possible empty property. More sensible designs would sheild and have the desk much further away but again the higher powers i presume, dont think and just pay out for stupid designs. Absolute joke and waste of money.
