"Newham hospital"

My sister in law arrived via ambulance who were incredibly professional.. At the hospital the first call of contact was a receptionist who dismissed us to sit in waiting area.... My sister in law was in labour and could hardly stand due to weekness. We didn't expect any sympathy... After about 5 mins the receptionist shouted across the desk something to us in which was something like urine!!!!! A bottle was placed on desk whilst the receptionist continued to talk and laugh randomly to other nurses about the receptionist's social life! Amazed I explained my sister in law is lying on the couch screaming in front of other people, how on earth is she going to give a sample?? The receptionist didn't have the courtesy to look at me instead dismissed it... Thank god my sister in law was assessed quickly.... I appreciate that newham hosp. Is in a area where ppl are from different backgrounds, so maybe that is easier. having 2 children myself on the NHS in another part of London it could not have been different... Newham needs to actually have a word with their staff.... Even though my ethnicity is not english I feel that in my opinion it was very difficult to understand what was said in this most important time for a mother...... In some ways it was quite primitive and even though it worked out well for mother and daughter there really was no compassion... Surely in their training they are told that..... As a tax payer for over 35 years I feel let down by newham hospital.
