Thank you, Stuart, for taking the time to let us know about your experience of our eye clinic. We are sorry for the confusion surrounding your appointment and the difficulty you have had in arranging a follow up. Our Ophthalmology Department is incredibly busy and patient demand is at an all-time high. Because of the high demand for appointment slots, it is our policy that patients who do not attend their appointment without prior warning are discharged back to their GP. To make sure everyone is treated fairly across the board, this is the case for all patients, regardless of the number of appointments missed or attended in the past. We have listened to feedback from patients who attend the eye clinic and have devised a new system for booking follow up appointments which will make things better for patients and reduce the number of rearranged appointments. We understand that a member of ophthalmology staff has been in touch with you and has helped you with your concerns. If we can be of any further help, please get in touch with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 073 0510.
