After speaking to my doctor on the 28th of May 2014 about some chest aches and tired legs I was referred back to cardiology with which I had had appointments following a heart attack in 2007 followed by a stent. I was initially contacted by telephone and offered new cross but opted for the Princess Royal Hospital where I had previously had contact and which is five minutes from my home by car. I was told I might have a long waiting time for this but in the event I was offered the 28th of July 2014 which clashed with a long planned holiday but was quickly offered the 6th of August 2014 which I accepted and confirmed following tests the previous week. I had prior echocardiogram on 15th July 2014 in preparation. On arrival on the 6th of August 2014 I quickly had an electrocardiograph followed by a consultation with Dr Makan and was finished within an hour having paid for five hours parking in case the appointment exceeded two hours, an iniquitous system taxing sick people! The medical side was efficient, courteous and reassuring.
