"Very good, efficient care at QMC Ophthalmology"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I went to see my GP, Dr Woods, on friday afternoon about a problem with my eye. Upon seeing my eye, he referred me to the QMC Ophtahlmology department. He handwrote a letter and sent me there directly. The consultant was gentle and pleasant and made me feel very much at ease. After examination, he explained what needed to be done - he gave me some eye drops and sent me home, but said that I must come back in the morning.

When I returned saturday morning, the consultant said that I would need to have laser treatment on both eyes. It was done within 10 minutes. He said it would sting, and so I said 'if I shout please excuse me', but the consultant couldn't have been nicer to me if he tried. It did sting more than I expected, but it was worth it if the procedure was gonig to improve my eyes.

I was surprised at how quickly I was seen on each occasion. I am very grateful to everyone concerned in my treatment. Thank you.
