"disgusted with the staff !"

About: Warrington Hospital

My partner was admitted to the hospital for a simple operation which he and i was told was an emergency, he went into hospital on the 12/08/2014 at 11am and was told he will have the operation that day, this was not the case, hes currently undergoing investigation for type 2 diabetes and was told he would be put on a glucose/ sugary water drip within the hour has he had not eaten since 6pm the previous night, this didn't happen at all. He ended up staying in over night and was aloud to leave the hospital for food at 11:30 by staff who said he could go if he went on a chippy run for them i was outraged, he was meant to he in there care not running around for them having not eaten in over 24hours.The next day he had his surgery and was told after coming around after the anaesthetic that the doctor would be around in an hour to assess if he was aloud home today, his operation took place at 09:25am and he can around soon after , yet at 4:00pm he is still sat there on the ward waiting for the doctor to come and see him, the nurses on the ward have contacted him numerous times and he has told them he will be in to see my partner next.Yes the doctor has been into the ward eating his lunch without a care in the world laughing and joking with the nurses and still not bothered to come and see my partner. The way he has been treated my staff throughout his stay in Warrington is disgusting and we will not be using this hospital from now on we will go to Chester if the problem cannot be solved at our local hospital Halton. I would highly advise people to use a different hospital if they can.

I am sorry to read your partner’s experience, which we have shared with the surgical teams. We’d be really grateful if you could contact us so we can look into your comments further. If that’s possible, please email us via pals@whh.nhs.uk.

Thank you

Sorry to hear you had complaints about your partners care with us. Please contact us so we can look into these in more detail as it is difficult to pin the ward area down from the comments. You can email our PALS officer at pals@whh.nhs.uk who will contact you back and can then look into it for you.
