"Wonderful community matron service"

About: Central Lancashire PCT / Community nursing

(as the patient),

After a heart bypass in 1993, and following visits to the clinic, I was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. My doctor asked the community matron to come and help me at home.

This service has been of great help to myself and my wife. When things got bad, they rang the hospital to get me in, and made out prescriptions for us without having to go to the GP surgery. We just have to ring and we have help right away.

Thank you for a wonderful service.

Dear Centre568

Being diagnosed with a long term condition like COPD can often be a very difficult time for patients. It is clear that your GP felt that you would benefit from the advice and support that the Community Matron Service can provide.

You must feel reassured that you have someone to call on when you need to.

Thank you for saying thank you. I will make sure that the Community Matron Team see the comments you have made.
