I had a knee replacement in January, the treatment at the hospital was OK although there were a couple of nurses who were not so good. Everything else was exceptional.
I had to go back for physiotherapy, I was seen on time but they didn’t do very much by way of physiotherapy, they just watched me walk up and down, go up and down a few steps and checked how far I could bend my knee.
However, the aftercare provided by Locala in Cleckheaton was excellent. A physiotherapist from there came to see me and did work on my knee and gave me exercises to do. He was brilliant. Unfortunately, after he stopped coming there were no physiotherapists available for another 13 weeks. Locala also arranged for home help where two ladies came to help prepare food and help me shower – they arranged for a shower seat and trolley to be delivered to make things easier. This service was brilliant.
