It was on the evening of July 26th at the Radisson Blue Hotel, Stansted Airport that I had an unfortunate experience. My wife and myself were planning to catch the 6.00 plane on the following morning to Greece on a two week holiday. Dehydration and low blood sugar levels led to a disturbing session of delirious behaviour. My wife called for an ambulance. The crew were superb...very caring, obviously knowledgeable, and very thorough. After supportive initial treatment they helped us discuss the options and we decided to go to A&E even though it had a 2-3 hr waiting time. The waiting time was, as predicted 2 hours. It was not however a wasted 2 hrs. as during that time I had a variety of tests that later informed the doctor about my condition and helped her suggest treatment and eventual discharge. All staff I met in this busy department were courteous, helpful and very professional. Thank you. It gave us the confidence to continue our holiday. We made it back to the hotel by 2.00, had 2 hours sleep and then to the flight and 2 great weeks in Greece. Again many thanks to all of you.
