Very informative session on the different types of dementia. The analogy of the fairy lights depicting dementia deterioration was very useful in helping young people understand how memories and skills can be dimmed/lost over time. Symptoms progress at different rates.
Bookcase analogy, with the shelves getting shaken (memories), emotions (is the carcus) and remains much longer even if facts have disappeared from the shelves. Perception task with 6 volunteers was a great illustration of what different people are capable of - based on individual judgements. The young people responded very well to the information and activities. Thank you very much for your time and efforts in supporting our project.
