"Exceptional care for patient visiting from another..."

In June of this year we were waiting at the Heathrow Airport to fly back to our home in Canada when my husband took ill. An ambulance was called and he was taken to Hillingdon Hospital for an assessment. Although the emergency department was very busy, we received very good care from the staff, and great support from the volunteers (including tea). He was admitted for an overnight stay and was given very good clinical care. The staff at the hospital were extremely helpful to me - they showed me where to obtain some cash; where I could get something to eat; and even found a bed and breakfast for me not far from the hospital. The staff at Hillingdon Hospital took very good care of my husband and helped us both get through a difficult situation. We are greatly appreciative of the kindness and courtesy shown by all the staff to help make the situation much less stressful. Thank you to all the staff that helped us at Hillingdon Hospital. It is gratifying to hear that your experience in the emergency department was of the standard that we aim to deliver to all patients accessing our services. The staff involved in assisting recall the very difficult circumstances that you faced and are pleased to have been able to help you address these difficulties. We are proud of the staff members employed in emergency care who strive to ensure that all patients and carers needs are addressed and indeed in this instance it appears that they were. We appreciate that despite facing such difficult times you took the time to post your comments.
