Staff on Sunderland Day Care ward are amazing, especially the nurses, assistants, the anaesthetist. I am writing to praise your team members for being exceptional, compassionate, kind, caring, excellent, outstanding professional, dedicated, hard working and helpful. I am hospital phobia my husband finds it difficult to believe a headteacher crosses the threshold of a hospital and turns into an emotional mess. However your wonderful staff were able to put me instantly at ease. Every question I asked, two members of staff were able to answer in user friendly terms that even I could understand. these two staff members were extremely welcoming, helpful, kind, highly professional, with exceptional interpersonal skills. I was worried that my walking stick and built up shoe would be lost but everything was transferred safety to my bed by the time I returned from theatre. Staff were there to meet and greet me back from theatre. Meeting both my medical needs and providing tea and toast in abundance better than the Ritz! They worked so hard in difficult conditions yesterday my phone recorded 32 Celsius on Sunderland ward, and I find it incredible that your staff are able to work so hard and do such an fantastic job in this extreme heat. I have had a number of operations due to suffering from osteoarthritis since being a child. Yesterday the anesthetist actively listened to me and for the first time alleviated my symptoms of extreme coldness and sickness after surgery for which I am truly grateful. I was also impressed with the theatre nurse who was exceptional at her job and so kind and caring in recovery and especially another member of staff who worked over and above to assist me returning home safety and without a catheter for which I am ever grateful and I totally appreciated her encouragement sensitivity to me being an over anguish patient. I believe your above team of staff are a credit to your organisation and indeed an asset to Medway Maritime Hospital. Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole would be proud of you all ever thanks for making my hospital treatment outstanding as it should be in the 21st century. I hope you appreciate how amazing they are.
