"Broken arm"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I broke my arm on Wednesday evening though I didn't realise it. I went to the Doctor and then to A&E on the Thursday for a diagnosis and plaster. I then attended the fracture clinic on the Friday. All this went well, though there was a lack of explanation as to any exercises I should do. A fortnight later I visited the fracture clinic again and there was a very long queue. One youngish lad at reception who dealt with everyone on his own despite three other people in the office behind. They could have helped and got people sitting down more quickly. In terms of customer care it didn't look good. The receptionist was however customer care personified as he answered any questions politely and was very patient and never lost his temper. He was to be congratulated. When I was discharged there was a lack of advice about care, there was no physiotherapy offered.
