"Physiotherapy"

About: Exmouth Hospital

I had been experiencing severe back pain and right sided full leg symptoms from a pinched nerve on L5 /S1 spine for a few months with worsening symptoms. I was given exercises to do after a very thorough and full assessment where I felt at last someone had truly taken the time to give my symptoms full consideration and feed back on what would be the best thing to do . After the third weekly visit the physiotherapist was concerned that my symptoms were not improving. She rang me the next morning and suggested that I really should go to A and E in Exeter, she had even contacted them and my GP for the refferal. She followed things up every day for 3 or 4 days. I had an MRI scan within a week and a consultants appointment in 10 Days after which he operated on my spine 2 days later to find a herniated disc plus a spinal cord adhesion to a dis-placed bone. If it had not ben for her quick thinking and pro-activeness in facilitating the whole thing. The outcome could have been very life changing! Bless you xx

Dear Patient

Thank you for taking the time to post your very positive feedback about your physio treatment and on-going referrals. I was pleased to learn that you felt your physiotherapist listened to you, and acted promptly when she felt you needed further interventions. It must have been a very anxious time for you and I am very pleased the diagnosis and treatment happened quickly for you.

I have shared your positive comments with the Physiotherapy service lead who I know will be very pleased to share them with your physiotherapist.

I do hope you are now recovering from your surgery and are making good progress with your recuperation.

Jayne
