"Wouldnt help"

About: Newcastle Dental Hospital

Since a young age I have had a phobia of dentists and would always try and avoid them. It was only until 17 years of age I knew I needed to do something about my teeth. I had "fang like teeth" and was really embarrassed of them. I was referred by my dentist at the time to the Dental Hospital to see if I could have a brace fitted. I visited the Dental hospital several times to meet different people. I had moulds done and was told that I could have braces. It wasn’t until I attended my next apt that I was told unless I had jaw surgery I wouldn’t be getting the braces. I have never had a problem with my jaw even appearance my jaw was fine. I was very disappointed that I was told I couldn’t have braces without getting jaw surgery (waiting list was also 3 years+) After waiting nearly 5 months from appointment to appointment to be told I wasn’t getting them was devastating. I now wear Invisalign and have around 1 year left on my treatment after going private and I was told no jaw surgery was needed.

Thank you for leaving feedback regarding the service provided at Newcastle Dental Hospital. It is apparent from your feedback that there is a significantly different approach being taken by your current orthodontist when compared with the treatment plan we were offering you at the time you were assessed. Without having access to your clinical records it is not possible to offer an explanation for this but if you contact Mr Tim Baker, Directorate Manager on 0191 282 4138 and provide your details we can explore this further and provide an explanation if you wish.
