"Sprain or broken ankle"

About: St James's University Hospital

Misdiagnosed with a sprained ankle, walked on it for 8 days before going back to A&E only find out that it was broken in 2 places! Doctors were very dismissive and made to feel that I was making up my injury. To top it off I have to wait 5 days until a full cast is put on, with 2 small children and due to go on holiday next week, to I am unhappy, does not really convey the way I am feeling,

Dear Anonymous I can understand this situation must be very frustrating for you. I have passed on your comments to the Matron for A&E to look at the issues you have raised. It would be helpful to discuss your experience in more detail. If you can, please contact the Trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 2067168 or email patient.relations@leedsth.nhs.uk Kind regards Scott Senior Nurse Patient Experience
