I went to see my psychiatrist for the second time and I felt she looked down on me and treated me like a child, I also found her hard to understand. I asked her to treat me as an adult and I did not think she did so I stormed out of the room.
I complained about her to the HQ at Fulwood and the lady who deals with complaints wrote to get both sides of the story but the psychiatrist did not apologise. She arranged for me to see a new psychiatrist and also arranged for me to have help from the advocacy service when I went to see the psychiatrist.
The new psychiatrist did treat me like an adult and promised to stick with me until I was better. She also referred me to a psychologist.
I would like to thank the advocacy service who were excellent, and really stayed with me and were there for me.
I was also impressed that the new psychiatrist offered to send me copies of the letters that she sent to the GP.
