"excellent care throughout mum's stay"

Our 84 year old mother who suffers from advanced dementia was treated with respect, excellent physical and medical care throughout her prolonged stay in Ward 20. Because of her acute needs, a member of the family stayed with mum throughout each day to offer reassurance and help with feeding her. We thus had the opportunity of seeing the care she received. All members of staff - medical, nursing, hcas, and domestic staff showed professional respect, patience, and holistic and efficient care for all mum's needs during her stay and when planning her discharge. The teamwork was excellent. The clinical staff all discussed mum's care and needs with us fully and sought and valued our input. We also saw other patients being treated with the same dignity, professionalism and good humour. Thank you to all - you're great representatives of the hospital and the NHS in general.
