my name is gary stevens I am type 2 diabetic I arrived at hospital at 10.45 on1/aug/14 to have growth removed from my bladder I was told that I was second on operating table. At 5.40 pm I am told that the op could not go ahead as the table was not big enough for my 200 kilos and the one that was ,was been used by some one else. I am extremely angry in that they had only done the preop 3 days before and it was know that I was big person..I can not understand why the people responsible for planning theatre were not aware of this and allowed the lighter person who got book on to the larger table straight after the first big person was finished , when it came to me booked in to the smaller table the other operation had started and been going for some time and could not possible be stopped. If they had two large people in at the same time one could have been book morning and other in afternoon .Being self employed having book time off for op and recovery time, and also going on holiday on the 20 aug to grand canary's might not happen now means I will be losing couple of grand. on top off this my son has lost a days wages taking me in and waiting all day with me for op to happen. Looks like I am going to lose another weeks wages and my son a days wages I would not last very long treating my client's like this regard gary stevens P.S.I hope you put me first op in morning when you rebook this and very soon so can still go on holiday first one in 5 years
