"Hillingdon hospital - fracture clinic could be better"

About: Hillingdon Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Recently I was treated at the fracture clinic at Hillingdon Hospital and things need to improve dramatically.

First the nurse calls out into the waiting area and then disappears behind the door - with a broken leg its difficult to follow the nurse into the right area (and the door to the fracture clinic isn't automatic making it another obstacle). When I asked for a pillow to put below my injured knee the nurse said they don't have any. They also ran out of the paper covers they put on the examination beds replacing them between patients.

When sent to do x-rays I had to ask them to put protective cover to reduce risk of radiation they didn't put it themselves. The physiotherapy dept. seem to be nicer and well meaning but had very limited facilities and couldn't offer much help so I felt it neccessary to get private physio so I can actually recover and not loose mobility permanently.

I think the situation is disgraceful.
