"Women's Health Unit"

About: Tameside General Hospital

I underwent a sacrospinious fixation procedure in August 2013 which although very successful resulted in my needing a subsequent prolapse repair operation. The second operation was carried out on 5 March 2014 and I have had my follow up appointment and been discharged this morning. I cannot praise the Consultant and his team enough - both as an outpatient and an inpatient I was treated wonderfully, with dignity and respect, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Tameside Hospital to anyone - the care was second to none. Thank you so much - I feel totally normal again and it's wonderful to have my life back!

Thank you for your kind words.

The staff in the gynaecology department endeavour at all times to ensure women receive the best possible care at all times. I will ensure that the Team has sight of your comments.

Thank you for taking the time to write and may I take this opportunity to wish you well?

‘’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
