"Lack of an x -ray left my wife with a fractured..."

About: West Cumberland Hospital

The staff did not want to x-ray my wifes lower back.Stating that she did not have a fractured pelvis because there was no blood in her urine. After an accident in turkey. They picked up a fractured spine of the fourth vertebrae. This proved to be an old injury. After the injury we paid out money to have physio . I think we are very lucky that she is not in a wheel chair.

Many thanks for contacting us about the experience of your wife at West Cumberland Infirmary. I am sorry that this was not satisfactory . We would clearly like to understand and learn more about what happened ,and would welcome your wife getting in touch with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team at the West Cumberland Hospital to explain the experience in more detail. She can reach the PALS team on 01946 523818. Alternatively you could contact PALS on her behalf , providing that she gives her written consent. I do hope that she is making a steady recovery. Thank you again for geting in touch. Alison Patient Experience
