"broken wrist"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

I broke my wrist at the gym on19th July 2014. I went straight to an A&E and as it was a very hot Saturday it was incredibly busy. The front desk nurses were extremely attentive. I was having an xray within 30mins. The two nurses that attempted to manipulate my wrist back into place were caring and very thorough explaining exactly what they were going to do. As the manipulation did not work i had to have a further xray and unfortunately had to have surgery on the Monday. Although i was in A&E for 7hrs in total, my first experience was much better than I had expected and all the staff did a stirling job.

I am sorry to hear that the manipulation was unable to achieve the correct realignment of your fracture and you had to proceed to surgery. It is however very gratifying to hear your positive comments about the speed of your diagnosis and treatment and most importantly that your experience was much better than you had expected. I hope your recovery is continuing well and the surgery will yield the satisfactory healing of the fracture.
