I had knee surgery in Solihull Hospital Day Procedures Unit last month. From the minute I walked in the staff were efficient and caring. Staff Nurse Kathy admitted me in straight away and did all the necessary checks. I was told I was 2nd on the list for Theatre. I explained to Kathy that I have a chronic bladder illness and due to me not being able to drink water since 11. 00 am that morning my bladder was very painful. Kathy spoke to my surgeon and it was agreed I could be moved up to 1st on the list to avoid me any extra pain. It was nice as a patient to be listened to and my concerns acted on. My surgeon, Mr Bhattachara was also very pleasant and made me feel at ease.
I went into hospital at 12. 30 pm and was home by 6. 30 on the same evening.
First class treatment. I work at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust which Solihull Hospital is part of and I feel very proud to say I work at a place that gave me such good care.
