I gave my trust to this department and had major spinal surgery, a decision which was not taken lightly by me. I had waited until being in my 40's to have scoliosis surgery for degeneration and pain. Things were obviously not right straight after the operation and my body rejected the metalwork. However, I was left for 2 1/2 years in agonising pain, until finally, after much pleading and begging, the metalwork was finally removed. My life has been ruined, I will never be the same active person that I once was. My body has suffered terribly from the attack on it from having something in it that it didn't like for such a long time and I can only presume that had the relevant tests for allergy been undertaken prior to this surgery, then I would not be in this position today. Pals have not offered any help whatsoever. I do not wish this to happen to anyone else which is why I am giving this review. If you are told that titanium cannot cause allergies then this is simply not true. Please get a second opinion before having spinal surgery at this hospital. I live in regret every day.
